Murchison Falls National Park is the largest and oldest national park in Uganda, established in 1952. It covers about 3,893 square kilometers and is found in the northwestern part of the country. The park is famous for the mighty Murchison Falls, where the River Nile forces its way through a narrow gap just 7 meters wide before dropping 43 meters. The park is full of wildlife, with over 76 types of mammals and 451 kinds of birds.
