DAY 1: TRANSFER TO FORT PORTAL

Your journey will begin with an early morning pickup from your hotel, Kampala. Settle in for a comfortable drive to Fort Portal, a scenic town in Western Uganda. Along the way, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of lush tea plantations and rolling hills. Your first major stop will be at the Amabere Ga'Nyina Mwiru caves, a site rich in local legend and natural beauty. Explore the caves, learn about the folklore, and marvel at the stunning waterfall nearby. After the caves, continue to the historic Tooro Palace, home to the Omukama (King) of Tooro. Learn about the history of the Tooro Kingdom and enjoy the panoramic views of Fort Portal from the hilltop palace. Enjoy a traditional Ugandan lunch at a local restaurant in Fort Portal. In the late afternoon, check in at your selected lodge. Relax and unwind in your comfortable accommodation, surrounded by the serene landscapes of Fort Portal. Conclude your day with dinner at the hotel, followed by a restful overnight stay.";

Day 2: Kibale Forest Chimpanzee Tracking & Bigodi Wetland

Transfer to Kibale National Park, a 30-minute drive from Fort Portal, for the main event of the safari: chimpanzee tracking with one of the park's habituated communities. Kibale holds over 1,500 chimps — the highest density in Uganda — and the tracking experience is considered among the best in Africa. After the morning trek, return to the lodge for lunch before joining an afternoon guided walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-owned reserve at the forest edge with exceptional birdwatching and a good chance of spotting the shy sitatunga antelope. Overnight near Fort Portal.

Day 3: Crater Lakes Tour & Return to Kampala

Spend the morning exploring the unique crater lake landscape around Fort Portal — a series of perfectly circular volcanic craters filled with water and surrounded by tea farms, papyrus swamps, and small-scale agriculture. The most scenic include Lake Nkuruba (home to L'Hoest's monkeys), Lake Nyamirima, and Lake Saka. A local guide explains the geological history and the cultural significance of the lakes to the Batooro people. After lunch in Fort Portal town, begin the three-hour drive back to Kampala, arriving by evening.
