The Directors and Management of WildPulse Adventures Ltd recognize their responsibility to clients to ensure all reasonable precautions are taken to provide high levels of safety.
Our Safety Management System Aims and Objectives
WildPulse Adventures is committed to ensuring the health and safety of our clients throughout their tour. We achieve this through:
- Recognizing that health and safety issues are paramount and ensuring such issues always take priority while continually reviewing and updating our safety policy.
- Ensuring all tour suppliers provide safe transport and accommodation in compliance with current local and national standards.
- Continually developing our team to ensure members know how to follow safety standards and meet legal obligations.
- Seeking customer feedback, conducting post-tour evaluations, and performing pre-tour site visits to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas of failure.
- Completing comprehensive accident reports and reviewing accident data annually to identify trends and implement remedial actions.
Accommodation
- All accommodation booked by WildPulse Adventures will have liability cover for the duration of the contract and comply with local and national fire, safety, and hygiene standards. Relevant documents will be obtained wherever possible.
- Customer feedback will be shared with accommodation suppliers. Food & beverage suppliers must comply with local hygiene and safety regulations.
- WildPulse Adventures builds “regular use relationships” with select hotels and lodges. First-time accommodation use will involve a review by a team member.
- If serious concerns arise about accommodation, WildPulse Adventures will work with suppliers to address them, conducting inspections and evaluations if necessary.
Transportation
- All transport operators engaged by WildPulse Adventures must comply with local and national regulations and codes of practice. Operating licenses, vehicle, and public liability insurance will be verified and shared with clients upon request.
- Transport suppliers must provide evidence that drivers are cleared to work with children and have arrangements for emergencies, breakdowns, or supplier failure.
- Tourist transport vehicles used by WildPulse Adventures must have individual seat belts and be equipped with first aid kits and music systems. Comfort and rest breaks will be included for long journeys.
Tour Managers/Guides
- All tour managers and guides are contracted on a freelance basis and thoroughly background-checked by WildPulse Adventures.
Emergency Guidance
- In unforeseen events such as accidents or breakdowns, WildPulse Adventures will work with clients’ travel insurers, transport companies, and local authorities to resolve issues, including client repatriation.
- WildPulse Adventures reserves the right to use a transport supplier without full checks during emergencies.
Visits and Excursions
- WildPulse Adventures will provide risk assessments for tours and notify clients of hazards and steps to minimize risks. Supervising adults hold responsibility for the welfare of children during school or college tours.
- All sites used by WildPulse Adventures undergo prior visits. However, if a requested site visit has not been verified, it will be at the client’s own risk.
In the Event of an Emergency
- All group leaders, agents, guides, and tour drivers are given a 24-hour telephone service to the WildPulse Adventures Duty Officer.
- Emergency contacts for local authorities and medical services will be shared with clients when overseas.
- Clients must provide their emergency protocols before tours.
Pre-Tour Expectations
- Clients are expected to hold pre-tour briefings with children and their parents/carers. WildPulse Adventures will support these meetings with materials detailing guiding, travel, and accommodation arrangements.
- Group leaders must share any additional requirements, such as special needs considerations.
Post-Tour Evaluation
- Clients will be asked to complete post-tour questionnaires to share feedback on transport and accommodation quality. WildPulse Adventures will address concerns raised and publish responses on its website.
