Your journey will begin with an early morning pickup from your hotel, Kampala. Settle in for a comfortable drive to Fort Portal, a scenic town in Western Uganda. Along the way, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of lush tea plantations and rolling hills. Your first major stop will be at the Amabere Ga'Nyina Mwiru caves, a site rich in local legend and natural beauty. Explore the caves, learn about the folklore, and marvel at the stunning waterfall nearby.
After the caves, continue to the historic Tooro Palace, home to the Omukama (King) of Tooro. Learn about the history of the Tooro Kingdom and enjoy the panoramic views of Fort Portal from the hilltop palace. Enjoy a traditional Ugandan lunch at a local restaurant in Fort Portal. In the late afternoon, check in at your selected lodge. Relax and unwind in your comfortable accommodation, surrounded by the serene landscapes of Fort Portal. Conclude your day with dinner at the hotel, followed by a restful overnight stay.
DAY 2: GAME DRIVE AND BOAT RIDE IN KASESE
Start your day with an early breakfast at the lodge. Drive to Kasese for a day of adventure in the Queen Elizabeth National Park. Embark on a thrilling game drive through the park. Look out for elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, and various species of antelope and birdlife as you explore one of Uganda's most diverse wildlife reserves. Enjoy lunch or a meal at a nearby restaurant in Kasese.
In the afternoon, take a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake Edward and Lake George. This channel is famous for its high concentration of hippos, crocodiles, and a plethora of bird species. After your boat ride, drive back to Fort Portal for dinner and an overnight.
DAY 3: CRATER LAKES, HOT SPRINGS, AND RETURN TO KAMPALA
Start your final day with a hearty breakfast at the lodge. Explore the picturesque crater lakes around Fort Portal. These lakes, formed by ancient volcanic activity, are surrounded by lush vegetation and offer stunning views. Continue to the famous Sempaya Hot Springs in the Semuliki National Park. Here, you'll witness the boiling geysers and learn about their cultural significance. You can also try cooking an egg in the boiling water, a unique experience offered at the springs. Enjoy lunch at a local eatery on your way back to Kampala. After your exploration, begin the journey back to Kampala. Depending on the traffic, you should arrive in the early evening. Your guide will drop you off at your preferred location in Kampala, marking the end of your memorable 3-day trip.
